Privacy policy

This policy covers https://stampdutyhelp.co.uk. The publisher is established in France, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies; for visitors in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 give the same rights.

2. What the calculator never sends

Prices, nations, buyer situations and dates are processed in your browser only. They are not sent to a server, not stored and not linked to you. The share link writes your inputs into the page address: only send it to people you choose.

3. What is processed

Server logs

The host records the IP address, time, page requested and browser, for security. Legal basis: legitimate interest. Retention: according to GitHub’s policy.

Anonymous stability monitoring with Microsoft Clarity, no cookies

The publisher records no personal data about you. To keep the site working, it uses Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, Dublin) in cookie-free mode: for each page view, errors, loading times, clicks that lead nowhere and scrolling are measured without any cookie and without linking visits, with page content and inputs masked. Microsoft receives the technical data of the request, including the IP address from which an approximate location is derived, and keeps recordings for 30 days and aggregated data for up to 13 months. Legal basis: legitimate interest in a site that works (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and UK GDPR; no cookie is used, so regulation 6 of PECR does not apply); no cookie or identifier is kept on your device. You can object at any time by blocking clarity.ms or by writing to us. There is no advertising.

E-mails

If you write to us, your address and message are kept to answer you, for three years after the last exchange.

4. Recipients and transfers

Nothing is sold. The host, GitHub, Inc., and Microsoft, for the stability monitoring, are both based in the United States; data may be processed there under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension.

5. Your rights

Access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability: write to contact@stampdutyhelp.co.uk; we reply within one month. You can complain to the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL) (https://www.cnil.fr) or, in the UK, to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

6. No automated decision

A result is an estimate you ask for; it has no legal effect on you.
